Eglinton 2 (Toronto #4)

There are so very many reasons to love Toronto, the interesting and awesome people you meet are just one of those reasons.

Special Photo Challenge: Inspiration

This Special Photo Challenge came at the right time for me. It came just as a great gust of inspiration came at me… I love taking photos and have made the conscious decision to be a photographer and take photos of things that matter to me, mainly social documentary. I’m also finding inspiration in other types of photography, portraiture and commercial photography – which is something I never saw myself doing until now. Doors are opening up for me and I’m making the conscious choice to step into them, stepping into me and my greatness. It’s funny because a few days ago I even wrote a blog on the very same theme of stepping into your own greatness and the importance of making the conscious choice to do so.

Here is a shot that was taken while on a photo shoot today… It’s inspired me to open myself up to even greater possibilities.

All of this just leads me to ask, what else is possible?

Eglinton – 1 (Toronto #3)

I spent the afternoon on an Afro-Caribbean strip of Eglinton. One of my favourite things about Toronto is the fact that you can walk from one street to another and see several cultures and communities. Growing up in the east end of London, there is something very familiar about being around so many different nationalities and cultures.

Aria (Toronto #2)

This is Aria Zenua.

I met her playing her guitar and singing in downtown Toronto on one of the last of the hot summer days.

One of my favourite things to do is to watch people in their element, be it singing or dancing or anything else. I love to see when people become so present in what their doing that they forget everything else. This was one of those moments.

School’s Out (Toronto #1)

This is me doing something I don’t usually do. I don’t usually edit my photos. I like to publish them as they are. However I also enjoying playing with my photos. So this is still medium format, just edited a little here and there.

Since I currently reside in Toronto, I figured I should share some of the shots I’ve taken since I’ve been here.

I enjoyed taking this shot. I’d bumped into a group of teens leaving school. I love watching young ones, they fascinate me. Their perception is so different, so much more dramatic, intense (and hormonal). It makes me smile and remember days of old when I was a teen.
