I met her playing her guitar and singing in downtown Toronto on one of the last of the hot summer days.
One of my favourite things to do is to watch people in their element, be it singing or dancing or anything else. I love to see when people become so present in what their doing that they forget everything else. This was one of those moments.
Taken in Namyang-ju, South Korea while on something of a hike with my school. I am fascinated with animals. In part because I believe they carry a message with them, but also because they’re amazing in what they do and how they do it. I love spiders, they’re amazing creatures.
For those interested in animal totems, they represent infinity, linking the past to the future. Spiders are also weavers of stories, dreams, illusions and fate. Spiders remind you to maintain balance.
Rene watching the 6’oclock news. We didn’t utter a word to each other until after. I love how engrossed she is in the stories, her expression shows thoughtfulness and even dismay at the stories being told. We need to have more cheerful uplifting stories on the news…
Seeing this photo always makes me smile. I believe that when someone has an incredibly bright light within them, it shines. I love this photograph of Ingrid even more because it was a moment where we were all laughing and smiling, it reminds me of a beautiful day.
I love shooting people. I get something of an adrenalin rush while I’m waiting for that split second where they are completely themselves, in the moment. I actually prefer to shoot outside of photoshoots because it feels more natural to me.
This is Troy a videographer and a photographer. This was in South Korea last year. What do you think this photo says about him? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
This is the first self portrait I took with this camera. This is my baby and me. I do have a few cameras, including digital cameras and Lomography cameras (those are for fun), but this one, my analogue medium format camera from way back when, that’s for serious business. There are no automatic settings with this camera, no ISO, f stop or aperture functions, it’s all me. That’s what I love about this kind of photography. It’s me, the camera and the subject. Every photo that I post on this blog is not edited and it’s taken with this very same camera. Old school, just how it was meant to be 😉
